Fujitsu-Siemens Notebooks
with Linux
The Amilo-D Notebook is »Ready for SuSE Linux«.
The Fujitsu C-Series is »Ready for SuSE Linux«.
Nonetheless the softmodem PCTEL PCT303/304 in C-Series does not work!
Amilo-D softmodem works fine with Lucent modules.
Amilo-D have got ACPI-BIOS (without APM!).
APM does not work probably with Fujitsu C-Series.
Both works with shared memory and can not display framebuffers until
booting.
Some special multimedia-buttons on Amilo-D keyboard will not be
detected.
Do you need some interfaces?
Be careful! Amilo-D comes without IrDA, TV-Out, serial interface.
Stephen Lord wrote me
his
suggestions for Amilo-D:
Just some extra info.
My Amilo D -CY23 comes with TV out although as you point out no IRDA or
serial.
I have an external IRDA which I haven't tried yet (still dual booting)
CD, DVD and CDRW all work fine.
The lucent works with the binary but you of course need to make sure
you
have the right binary for your Kernel.
Runs Mandrake 8.1 from the box.
DVD playback great under Ogle but sucks under Xine and OMS due to lack
of
support for the Twister graphics under XF4.x
Any news on accel for Twister under XF4 greatly appreciated.
